Sensei Paul Wilkinson (3rd Dan) started training with the North Harbour Dojo in 2003, being one of the first students to participate in the 10 week ABC 4 Karate (Absolute Beginners Class) – yes we all have to start somewhere. This was perfect for Sensei Paul because believe it or not he was actually quite shy and it took him a few times to pick up the courage to actually give it a go. Since that first time of stepping into the ‘old’ dojo at the top of Birkenhead shopping centre on Hinemoa St he has never looked back.
