As you may have seen in the New Zealand Herald, there was a massive fire at the historic Northcote College Sports Pavilion, the very place to which we had recently relocated.
The loss of the heritage-listed Sports Pavilion is a tragic loss for the Northcote community and we are grateful there was no loss of life in the fire.
The spirit of OSU! is to push and endure; and push and endure we will. We are actively investigating new locations and believe we will be back to regular training soon, possibly as soon as Wednesday, 25 February 2026. We will notify all students and update this website as soon as we have locked in the facility.
To our former students, a piece of our history is now gone, but not forgotten. There were many, many hours of blood, sweat, tears, joy and laughter spent in the Sports Pavilion and these will not be forgotten, building or no building. If you want to re-live some of the old days, come visit us. We’d love to see you back.
To our current students, we understand how disruptive this event is to your training and we are making every effort to lock in a new home so that you can train without further disruption. Life is full of challenges and that is why we endeavour to learn patience, endurance, and peace of mind through karate. We will soon be through this and into a new facility.
To our prospective and future students, there has never been a better time to join our family at North Harbour Kyokushin Karate. Reach out via the website or through info@karate4u.co.nz and we’ll get you started on the right path… wherever we may be training!
OSU!
